Peter Horton, The First Husband

Michelle Pfeiffer met Peter Horton, another budding actor, during her time in Los Angeles. They dated for a long period and early in 1981, they decided to tie the knot in Santa Monica.

She starred in One Too Many, a TV show that her husband directed. Val Kilmer was another up-and-coming big name to star in the show. However, by 1988, the cracks were beginning to show in the couple’s relationship, and they divorced by mutual consent. Horton says that in retrospect, there was nothing wrong with the marriage. It was simply a case of the two of them being far too involved in their work.

A Hint Of Scandal

Michelle Pfeiffer has also had a minor affair with the theater, and it was during a production of Twelfth Night at the New York Shakespeare Festival that she met Fisher Stevens.

Pfeiffer and Stevens were “going steady” for nearly three years, but in the end decided that things weren’t going well and they split. Michelle then began to date, rather more controversially, John Malkovich, her co-star in Dangerous Liaisons. It was controversial because Malkovich was married at the time, to another famous actress, Glenne Aimee Headly. Headly is famous for her role in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels on TV.
