In 2013, Steven C. Swanson from Sandwich, Massachusetts threatened to murder former Victoria’s Secret Model Miranda Kerr. Swanson had called a dispatcher in Los Angeles to notify them of his plans to come and “rescue” the model. He was also convinced that she was his wife and soulmate.

Swanson claimed that he was a federal agent and that only Marshall Law would stop him. He continued to warn law enforcement that he would be traveling with firearms with the intention of using them. He was arrested in his home before making it to Los Angeles. It was discovered that Swanson suffers from bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, and had not taken his medication in months.
