Kobe Bryant retired from the NBA in April 2016. The basketball great had a tough time stepping off the court professionally, so he grew a beard to ease into retirement. At only 37 years old when he retired, Bryant isn’t exactly hanging his hat up.

This is probably why his retirement beard is short and groomed. After all, he’s making red carpet appearances and needs to look sharp. In 2018, Bryant won an Oscar for his animated short, “Dear Basketball.”
