Elizabeth Taylor was twice-married to the previously mentioned Richard Burton, so it is not surprising that she was consistently intoxicated throughout her acting career as well. She was mostly known for her battle against alcohol and painkiller addiction and she was more often than not drunk while filming. Burton even wrote about Taylor’s vices in his journal while working on a stage play with her which stated, “Elizabeth impossibly sloshed all day long. So much she couldn’t even read the lines”. The two were often known for loving each other immensely, yet fighting often in drunken rages that they usually settled over more alcohol.
