Ed Sheeran’s Own Tattoo Artists Hates His Tattoos
Ed Sheeran has gotten a lot of colorful tattoos over the years. The singer is covered in ink on both his arms and even all over his chest. Kevin Paul, the tattoo artist who has tattooed Sheeran over 40 times in his career, has admitted he hates them all.
In a recent interview with the UK's Daily Mirror, the tattoo artist admitted that his tattoos are "s---."
"I take the p--- out of Ed all the time, when I'm with him, that they are s---," said Paul.
According to Paul, the fact that he is associated with Sheeran's simplistic tattoos is frustrating and can be damaging to his image and profession.
"I was a big massive artist doing 3D-work and winning multi awards and then all of a sudden you end up doing Pingu the Penguin and f------ gingerbread men on pop stars," said Paul. "Everybody just thought I was s---, but I'm not."
To be fair, Sheeran does have some interesting tattoo choices. He has a lot of cartoon-style images on his body including a lego man, puzzle pieces, and even the Heinz ketchup bottle logo. Despite bashing his own work on Sheeran's body, the tattoo artist admits he doesn't regret it as it helped gain him popularity.
"Best thing to happen to my career and the worst … But I don't regret working with them as it’s changed my life and opened amazing doors for me to do great things," said Paul.
Bashing tattoos you did on a client that made you popular seems like an interesting way to say "thank you", but to each their own...
