Kobe’s Wife Couldn’t Walk Away

2003 was a rough year for NBA legend Kobe Bryant, both legally and in his personal life. His reputation was tarnished when a 19-year-old, who was a hotel employee where the NBA star was staying, claimed that Bryant had sexually assaulted her. The accusation led to a highly publicised court case. Byrant admitted to having sexual relations with the young lady but denied the sexual assault allegation.

Byrant’s wife Vanessa stood by his side while he came clean to the public in a press conference, but didn’t file for divorce until December 2011. However, in 2013, the couple announced they were calling off the divorce and were staying together. Byrant said, “I am happy to say that Vanessa and I are moving on with our lives together as a family. When the show ends and the music stops, the journey is made beautiful by having that someone to share it with.”
