Sophia Loren: The Italian Dream Girl

Sophia Loren is an Italian actress who was born in Rome, Italy. Loren began her film acting career at the young age of 15 after becoming a finalist in a beauty pageant, Miss Italia 1950, a year before. Her career really took off internationally after she signed a five-year contract with Paramount Pictures in 1958.

She starred in films such as Desire Under the Elms, Houseboat, and Heller in Pink Tights. Continuing to take roles in films, up until 2014, Loren has won numerous awards, including a Grammy Award, five Golden Globe awards, and a Laurel Award. A Golden Palm Star on the Palm Springs, California Walk of Stars was dedicated to her in 1994.
