Grint almost had a shot at becoming a TV star in America back in 2013. He signed on to a project called Super Clyde. In the pilot, the lead actor becomes a superhero after inheriting a ton of money from a dead relative. It was a comedy about a nerdy and neurotic food service worker.

While many liked the pilot, CBS chose not to pick up the series. To make things more humiliating for Grint, CBS later elected to go on without him and shoot a new pilot with an original cast.
