A new month means Netflix is doing us all a favor and adding new content to their catalog. That means holiday movies, original content, about-to-become-extremely-popular-for-a-few-weeks docu-series, and highly-anticipated new seasons of popular series.
We're talking about Part 3 of Pokémon Journeys: The Series for some nostalgia, the original movie A California Christmas for those who need a bit of holiday cheer, and the limited series The Ripper because, let's be honest, true crime is popular. Get ready; Netflix is about to drop some great binge-worthy content this December, including titles listed below!
The Midnight Sky
What's 2020 without a movie about a little global catastrophe? Thankfully, The Midnight Sky is here to help us fill that impending apocalypse void. Starring George Clooney and Felicity Jones, the movie revolves around a lone scientist in the arctic who tries his hardest to contact some astronauts returning to earth.
Unfortunately for them, they're returning to a global catastrophe unless the scientist can reach them in time and stop the apocalypse before it happens.
Angela's Christmas Wish
The sequel to the much-loved animated family film Angela's Christmas is coming to Netflix this December. Join Angela once again as she tries her hardest to reunite her family for Christmas in the heart-warming movie Angela's Christmas Wish.

50 First Dates

The 2011 film Rango is making its Wild West debut on Netflix in December. Get ready to join the chameleon Rango as he searches for who he truly is, not a housepet but someone with an actual identity.

The Ripper
Get ready, Netflix subscribers and true crime enthusiasts, a new limited docu-series is about to join the streaming service's catalog this holiday season. The Ripper dives into the Yorkshire Ripper investigation that occurred between 1975 and 1980.
For those you aren't familiar with the investigation, it revolves around the Yorkshire Ripper, an English serial killer with 13 victims (not Jack the Ripper). With testimonials and primary documentation, this docu-series is sure to be interesting and chilling to the bone.
DNA
The French film DNA was a contender at the 2020 Cannes Film Festival. Unfortunately, the annual festival was canceled, and the movie didn't make its debut until the Deauville American Film Festival. But it was totally worth the wait!

Sweet Home (Season 1)
Another new series coming to the Netflix catalog in December is the South Korean series Sweet Home. While that title might sound like a loving family show, it couldn't be more opposite. Following an accident that leaves Cha Hyun-soo without a family, he moves into a new apartment.
Trying to move on, Cha soon realizes strange instances are occurring around his complex. Strange as in, people are turning into monsters, and he and other residents go into survival mode!
The Grizzlies
The 2018 sports drama The Grizzles is a great choice for anyone looking for an uplifting story. Based on a true story, the movie follows several teenagers' lives as they learn about the sport of lacrosse in their community of Kugluktuk, Nunavut.
Sadly, the sport wasn't just a way for kids to have fun. The community hoped the organized sport would help combat youth self-harm in their tiny town, a rate that, at the time, was the highest in Noth America.
Home For Christmas (Season 2)
After her 24-hour hunt to find a boyfriend to bring home for Christmas, Johanne is back and better than ever in the second season of Home for Christmas. The first season of the Norwegian series was very popular, so you might want to binge-watch before settling in for season two.

Run On
Sports and romance... what's not to love when it comes to those two topics? Thankfully, the South Korean series Run On brings the two together in a drama unlike anything else. The series stars Im Si-wan as Gi Sun-gyeom, a former sprinter for the national team turned sports agent, and Shin Se-kyung as Oh Mi-joo, a subtitle translator for movies.
