People Are Not Happy With Beyoncé’s ‘Homecoming’ Results At The Creative Arts Emmy Awards
The 71st Annual Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards took place this weekend and Beyonce's Netflix documentary Homecoming was nominated for a total of six nominations. The film, which documented her 2018 Coachella performance as the first black woman to headline the festival, ended up walking away empty-handed - and people are not happy.
The film's nominations included outstanding variety special, costume, directing, music direction, production design, and writing. It lost to competitors such as Carpool Karaoke and RuPaul's Drag Race.
The Beyhive was especially upset after James Corden's Carpool Karaoke beat the film which Beyoncé wrote, directed and produced herself.
Even a cameraman on the film, Ben Hagarty, took his opinion to Twitter and expressed his disappointment.
"I held a heavy a-- camera and walked backwards keeping these 3 legends in frame while dave held a carabiner on my pants to guide me...Oh and I did it going down a set of stairs..RT if u would give us an Emmy at least," said Hagarty on Twitter.
There's been no comment from Queen B herself but, as always, she's one step ahead and on to the next big thing.
Yesterday, ABC announced a surprise documentary giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at how Beyoncé made her Lion King companion album. It's set to premiere on September 16th, 2019.
