With pressure from the fan base wanting the Lakers to have a successful postseason, General Manager Jerry West worked his magic. It was West who traded for Kobe Bryant, and he was the one who brought in Michael Jordan’s coach, Phil Jackson. The six-time coaching champion immediately brought the Lakers success in 2000.
