Actress Laurie Bird, who starred in the movies Two-Lane Blacktop, Annie Hall and Cockfighter, committed suicide at the age of 25. Bird was musician Art Garfunkel’s girlfriend, and killed herself in the apartment they shared.

She left a suicide note explaining that she’d been depressed. Garfunkel later said that “[s]he was beautiful, in a lonesome, haunted way, and I adored her.”
