Sia Reveals She Suffers From A Neurological Disease
Sia is a very private person. She even took it as far as to cover her face during performances and public appearances in the past. However, she recently opened up about her health in a series of tweets.
On October 4th, she revealed she is suffering from a number of ailments, including a neurological disease, in a series of tweets to her fans.
"Just to clarify, I have a neurological disease AND Ehlers-Danlos. EDS isn't a neurological disease," wrote Sia.
She says the neuralgia was caused by a "routine surgery" she had in the past.
"If you'd like more information it's neuralgia caused by a routine surgery three years ago. My TSH is also 29, it's supposed to be below 4, so I'm severely hypothyroid. I'm also taking time off to do intensive therapy on Complex PTSD. Turns out my bipolar 2 diagnosis was wrong," wrote Sia.
Her other issue, Ehlers-Danlos, affects 1 in 5,000 people worldwide according to the National Institute of Health. It's a group of disorders that affects the body's connective tissues.
Sia went on to encourage those who are suffering.
"I just wanted to say to those of you suffering from pain, whether physical or emotional, I love you, keep going. Life is f------ hard. Pain is demoralizing, and you're not alone," wrote Sia. It's refreshing to see a celebrity open up about such a personal issue and be an inspiration to her fans.
