Dr. Oz is also known to bring spiritual mediums to the show for stress reduction techniques. On one occasion, he brought in the medium John Edward to demonstrate how to reduce stress by talking to the dead. As reported by the Los Angeles Times, Edward told an audience member whose son who had passed away in a car accident that it had actually been a suicide. The parent responded with “I believe it,” raising suspicion as this is surely not being a response that should come from any grieving parent. He received further criticism from this once again promoting a method of healing completely lacking any scientific evidence.
