Oz’s belief in psychics and mediums doesn’t stop there. On one episode, he performed a before-and-after brain scan of already deemed fake psychic Theresa Caputo. Using an EEG scanner, he performed the scan once before she did a reading and again after she had “gone to the other side”. The brain activity looked different on the scan which Oz claimed meant that psychics could achieve a different type of consciousness. However, EEG scans show all brain activity, so the results were essentially inconclusive because the slightest change of thoughts or emotion will come up during the scan.
