These Celebrities All Broke The Same Promise And Played Right Into Trump’s Hands
Let's take a look back to 2016. If you can remember back to the presidential election, you may remember some celebrities all made a huge promise to America.
You don't remember? Well, let me remind you that several stars pledged to leave the country if Trump was elected. This article talks about all the big names who made the promise, and where they are today.
Drake, Where Should I Buy?
Before the election: Snoop Dogg threatened to head up north if Donald Trump was to become President.
After the election: The rapper hasn't bought a house in Canada as far as we know, but he did post a picture of Toronto's CN Tower on Instagram tagging Drake asking for some property. But, unsurprisingly, he was very excited that California's Prop 64 passed, which legalized recreational marijuana. We think that's why he hasn't left yet.
It's Still A Party In The USA
Before the election: Miley Cyrus tries not to be too political. So, you might not know that she was a huge Bernie Sanders supporter in the Democratic primaries. She then backed Hillary Clinton in the general election. She said that she was moving if Donald Trump got the oval office on an episode of The Voice.
After the election: Cyrus didn't end up moving once he was elected, but tweeted a very emotional video asking the president to have an open mind.
"We'll All Go Back"
Before the election: When the thought of a President Trump was mentioned to George Lopez, he laughed. After it became more apparent that Trump was going to have a shot, Lopez said, "he won't have to worry about immigration. We'll all go back."
After the election: He posted on Instagram and said he was looking to rent in other countries. He hasn't moved out of the U.S just yet though.
Cher Goes To Jupiter
Before the election: Cher isn't a fan of Donald Trump and never has been. She's not afraid to tweet at him every now and again with choice words that make her position very known. Before he was elected, she said that she would not only leave the country but leave the planet. She screamed, "IF HE WERE TO BE ELECTED, I'm MOVING TO JUPITER."
After the election: Since the election ended, she hasn't moved out. But, she does mention Nazi Germany quite a bit in her tweets as of late.
South Africa, Here I Come
Before the election: Samuel L. Jackson was one of the first major actors to join the anti-Trump movement. He certainly was not a bandwagon jumper. He claimed, "If that mother-----er becomes president, I'm moving my black --- to South Africa.
After the election: Since the election, he hasn't really talked about his plans to move to South Africa. But, South Africans are more than ready for his arrival. Many of them have been tweeting at Jackson saying that they're very excited to welcome him.
You Hoped It Wouldn't, But It Did
Before the election: Bryan Cranston voiced his anti-Trump sentiment when the election was coming down to the wire. At first, he didn't believe that Trump would have a chance. But, as soon as it was looking close, he strongly proclaimed, "I would definitely move, it's not real to me that that would happen. I hope to God it won't."
After the election: Well, I'm sure you're seeing the pattern here. Cranston took to Twitter asking Trump to unify the country and that he sincerely wishes him success after his win.
I WILL Do It
Before the election: Lena Dunham was VERY pro-Clinton. She made her position on if Donald Trump got elected VERY clear. "I know a lot of people have been threatening to do this, but I really will. I know a lovely place in Vancouver."

After the election: She hasn't moved to Australia, nor has she headed north up to Canada. But, she has made it clear on her social media that she's not a fan of what's happening to the country under the Trump administration.
I'm Going To Be Drake's Neighbor
Before the election: Ne-Yo made some very similar comments to what Snoop Dogg said. He claimed that he was going to be Drake's neighbor up in Canada if Donald Trump won the White House.
After the election: We have no word yet, a few years into the Trump presidency, as to whether Ne-Yo actually pulled through. He raised suspicions when he retweeted that the Canadian immigration service website was overloaded after the election.
She Walked The Walk
Before the election: Chelsea Handler was one of the few celebrities who actually walked the walk when she said she was going to move. She said in an interview, "I did buy a house in another country just in case. So all of these people that threaten to leave the country and they don't, I actually will leave the country."
After the election: She went on her Netflix show and said that she's not going to leave because she has a platform she can use to talk about the issues with the presidency.
Time To Learn Spanish
Before the election: Amy Schumer has been an outspoken critic of the Trump Administration. This shouldn't come as too much of a surprise considering she said that if he won the election her stand up act would change because she would need to learn Spanish. She said she would move to Spain or a country like that.
After the election: When she was called out for not moving, she said that her comments were all in jest. She wrote a very lengthy Instagram post that condemned Trump and his supporters.
Jon Stewart Wants To Be An Alien
Before the election: Talk show host and comedian Jon Stewart was thinking very similarly to Cher when he claimed that he would leave the planet if Trump were elected. He said he would consider "getting a rocket and going to another planet because clearly, this planet's going bonkers."
After the election: Well, as far as we know, Stewart hasn't built his rocket ship yet and still lives in New York (which sometimes feels like another planet so maybe that counts.)
Not Too Far From Home
Before the election: Keegan-Michael Key was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. If you don't know, that's a border city to Canada. He discussed moving to Canada if Trump got elected, "It's like, 10 minutes from Detroit. That's where I'm from, my mom lives there. It'd make her happy too."
After the election: Well, he still remains in Los Angeles and is an outspoken critic of President Trump on social media. I guess the cold weather was enough to scare him into sticking out the Trump administration.
Booking His Flight To Africa
Before the election: Eddie Griffin and Donald Trump have never had a great relationship dating back decades. They've never really gotten along. So, when Griffin was asked what he would do if Trump won, he responded with, "he's good at making money, but he's ignorant. If Trump wins, I'm moving to Africa."
After the election: Griffin says that his biggest fear in Trump's America is that the racial tension is going to hit a boiling point. Griffin hasn't moved to Africa.
It's A Package Deal
Before the election: Amber Rose is a very passionate person. She was certainly fired up about the thought of Donald Trump becoming her president, too. She said in an interview, "I can't even think about it. I'm moving, I'm out, I can't. And, I'm taking my son with me."

After the election: She Instagrammed a picture right after the election that said, "I'm terrified." There's no word from her as to her plans to live in eastern Canada.
Home Sweet Home
Before the election: Neve Campbell was born and raised in Canada. It's a country that she's very familiar with and told many reporters that she has no problem going back if Trump was elected. Being a dual citizen, she's probably the easiest move on this list.
After the election: She is spending a lot more time in Canada, but she hasn't moved their permanently. She is still a vocal critic of the president.
He's Donald To Me
Before the election: Omari Hardwick was quick to point out his distaste for the president. He said about Trump winning, "I'll move from Denver to Italy, if Donald Trump wins the presidency, I'm out."
After the election: To put it lightly, Hardwick was not happy when Donald Trump won the election. He said that he'll never call him President Trump. He'll only ever call him Donald. Despite his hate, he still hasn't moved.
"I Already Have My Ticket"
Before the election: Raven-Symone took a stand very early in the election. She said on The View, "my confession for this election is if any Republican gets nominated, I'm going to move to Canada with my entire family. I already have my ticket."
