Jose Mesa Threatened Omar Vizquel’s Life

Jose Mesa didn’t take kindly to future Hall of Famer Omar Vizquel calling his passion into question in 2003. Asked how he felt, the relief pitcher proudly said, “Even my little boy told me to get him. If I face him 10 more times, I’ll hit him 10 times. I want to kill him.”

True to his words, Mesa hit Vizquel the next three time he faced him. This old feud has never been settled. The two players might be retired, but they should probably never be put in the same room. You know, for Vizquel’s safety. Mesa probably carries a baseball with him just in case.
