The 49ers Crumble Under The Weight Of Too Many Egos

In one of sports’ more recent and entertaining feuds, the San Francisco 49ers saw everything they built crumble when no one in the building could get along. Coming off a third straight NFC Championship appearance, reports indicated eccentric head coach Jim Harbaugh and power-hungry general manager Trent Baalke were at war.

Team owner Jed York was forced to take sides, which was good news for Baalke. York had grown tired of Harbaugh’s attitude and leaked news he needed to win the Super Bowl the next year to stick around. The team went 8-8.
