Magic Johnson And Larry Bird Made History As Rivals

Perhaps it’s more appropriate to say the rivalry between Magic Johnson and Larry Bird made NBA history. Their professional feud dates back to college, where BIrd’s Indiana State Sycamores played against Johnson’s Michigan State Spartans in the 1979 title match.
When the NBA came calling, Bird became a Celtic and Johnson a Laker. The two storied franchises had shiny new franchise players. They met three times in the NBA Finals, with Johnson getting the best of Bird twice.
