Peyton Manning Called His Kicker An Idiot In 2003

Peyton Manning might be one of the best quarterbacks of all-time, but he wasn’t always the best teammate. In 2002, Colts kicker Mike Vanderjagt started the feud when he questioned whether Manning was the right quarterback for the team. At the time Manning was coming off his third Pro-Bowl.

Young and cocky, Manning didn’t settle the matter privately. In an interview, he said, “we’re talking about our idiot kicker who got liquored up and ran his mouth off… He’s a good kicker. But he’s an idiot.”
