In 2008, former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and DJ AM almost died in a fiery plane crash. The pair had finished performing at the University of South Carolina and were headed back to California that night.

Instead of a smooth takeoff, the Learjet they were in hurtled off the end of the runway and blasted across a five-lane highway before bursting into flames. A witness saw a shirtless DJ AM, real name Adam Goldstein, trying to help Barker take off his clothes amid the fire. Barker’s assistant and security guard, as well as the pilot and co-pilot, did not survive. If you think that’s intense, how about surviving getting shot multiple times?
