Times Kate Middleton And Camilla Parker Bowles Weren’t On The Same Page
The relationship between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law can have a bit of tension. And it seems as though the royal family isn't an exception. After looking at a wide variety of photos, it looks as though Kate Middleton and her stepmother-in-law, Camilla Parker Bowles, are pretty much over one another.

They Couldn't Stand Next To Each Other?
This might be the National Service of Remembrance at The Cenotaph, but does that mean the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duchess of Cambridge can't stand next to one another? They both look as though they'd rather be anywhere else but standing in the direct vicinity of one another on that tiny balcony.
Who knows if they had a bit of a fight before the ceremony began, but the tension radiating off this picture is almost tangible.
"Maybe If I Don't Look She'll Stop Talking"
Camilla Parker Bowles, Duchess of Cornwall, couldn't look more like an annoyed older sibling if she tried. While Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, talks to her, one would think the older Duchess would turn and face her, giving her step-daughter-in-law attention.
As it turns out, that was too much to ask on this given day. While Kate is all smiles, trying to have a conversation with her stepmother-in-law, Camilla looks like she's plotting her escape.
Two Queens And Camilla Still Isn't Giving Kate The Time Of Day
Even in the presence of Queen Letizia of Spain and Queen Maxima of The Netherlands, Camilla Duchess of Cornwall doesn't seem to want to give her stepdaughter-in-law the time of day. While the three other women are smiling, laughing, and talking, Camilla looks as though she's ready to run.
Maybe it's solely because Kate's looking at her, trying to bring her stepmother-in-law into the conversation. Who knows. But Camilla's face doesn't exactly say "friendly."
They Don't Look Like They Enjoy Standing Together
Taken during the Queen's annual birthday parade, this picture speaks wonders on either how the two Duchesses feel about either watching the flypast from the balcony of Buckingham Palace during Trooping The Colour or standing next to each other during the festivities.
Considering their facial expressions and the fact that they both look super stiff, it's safe to say the latter is more plausible. Hey, at least Kate's hat slopes down, so she doesn't have to see the sneer.
The Epitome Of Fake Smiling
This photo really looks like Kate and Camilla are putting on a show for the public and cameras. The smiles on their faces look a touch fake and plastered on. And the way they're smiling at one another is a bit cringe-worthy, to say the least.
It's the epitome of a "just putting up with you" smile, kind of like someone giving a sly not-so-nice compliment and then smiling about it even though the other person knows they were just being rude.
Looking Anywhere But At Kate
By the looks of this picture, it's a wonder how Camilla Parker Bowles can stand to be in the same room as Kate Middleton. The two Duchesses are practically facing one another on The Royal Barge, and Camilla looks as though she will set her eyes on anyone and anything as long as it's not her stepdaughter-in-law.
Yikes. Talk about holding a grudge for some mysterious reason. At least she didn't wind up throwing the Duchess of Cambridge overboard.
She's Not Amused They're Wearing The Same Color
When a sibling walks out of their room wearing the same outfit, style, or color, an argument may or may not ensue. But when a stepdaughter-in-law walks out to an event such as Trooping the Colour at the Buckingham Palace, all bets are off, as seen in this picture.
It looks as though Camilla isn't overly pleased that Kate opted to wear powder blue to the event. Because while the Duchess of Cambridge is all smiles, Camilla looks ready to push her over the balcony.
Talk About A Fake Smile
While visiting the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre Stanford Hall, one would think the royal family would put on the biggest smiles. Well, Duchess Kate is doing a stand-up job. On the other hand, the Duchess of Cornwall looks like she'd rather be anywhere else but standing next to the Duchess of Cambridge.
Seriously, didn't anyone tell her that fake smiles aren't the best thing in the world? It would have been better if she didn't try to smile at all!
The Not-So-Subtle Back Turn
Standing on a balcony with a bunch of people while overlooking an event means there will be a lot of conversation. But turning your back on someone standing directly next to you is a bit rude.
The Duchess of Cornwall turning her back on her stepdaughter-in-law not only looks bad but makes some people think that there is a bit of beef going on between the two royals! Oh, to be a fly on that balcony.
Showing More Interest In Sophie, Countess of Wessex
It might not be rude of the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker Bowles, to be speaking to Sophie, Countess of Wessex, at the annual Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cenotaph on Whitehall. But if Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge's face is any indication, it doesn't seem as though her stepmother-in-law wasn't acknowledging her existence.
It begs to question what went down between the two royal ladies before they stepped foot on the balcony!
Camilla Would Rather Be Talking to Anyone Else Right Now
Most people have had a moment in their life when the person they're talking to couldn't be less interested in what they're saying. That person right now is Duchess Kate Middleton, and the person who couldn't care less about what she had to say is her stepmother-in-law, Camilla Parker Bowles.
All the older royal had to do was crack a smile or something. Even Kate is trying to be the bigger person and pseudo-smile through the awkwardness.
Just Pretending The Other Doesn't Exist
Once again, the stepmother-in-law and stepdaughter-in-law are sitting together on a tiny bench in a moving carriage with nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. Obviously, the next best solution is not to look at one another, keep straight faces, and pretend the other isn't actually there.
Seriously, the tension radiating off Kate and Camilla is almost bursting off the screen. Haven't they heard the phrase "fake it till you make it?" In this case, fake liking each other until you make it to the destination!
The Side-Eye Speaks Volumes
Kate Middleton and Camilla Parker Bowles are known to share a chariot or two during events. But that doesn't mean either of them enjoys being confined to a tiny bench with the other.
Seriously, just take a look at this picture. The Duchess of Cambridge is probably wishing her hat slope faced the other way, so she didn't have to see the older Duchess mean-mugging her with that epic side-eye.

Is it just a trick of the lens, or is Camilla Duchess of Cornwall subtly leaning away from Kate Duchess of Cambridge? It's not abnormal for a mother-in-law (or stepmother, in this case) and a daughter-in-law to butt heads with one another.
But learning away from one another is a whole other mess of issues. And for Camilla to showcase this much annoyance in public, well, let's just say it's very un-royal-like.
Camilla Boxing Kate Out Of The Conversation
This picture captured quite the moment. It might not have been her intention, but Camilla is totally boxing Kate out of the conversation she's having with Prince Charles and Prince William.
And while Prince Harry is trying to maneuver his way into the circle, Kate is just smiling, laughing, and pretending Camilla's actions aren't getting the better of her. And not only is Camilla doing a total defensive strategy, but the Duchess of Cornwall's hat might as well be in Kate's mouth.

While Kate looks like she's having a very nice conversation, Camilla looks as though she smelled something bad and didn't understand why Lord Ashburton isn't moving Kate aside to go speak with her instead.
Are They Arguing On The Balcony?
The royal family always seems so composed. So, it's interesting to see the beef that is all too obvious in this picture. Seriously, are the two duchesses arguing on a balcony? If they aren't, then Kate and Camilla might want to rethink their facial expressions when they're speaking to one another.
Whether it's the choice in hat, dress, or accessories, it looks as though the Duchess of Cornwall has more than a few things to say to her stepdaughter-in-law about the dos and don'ts or fashion.
Pink Is Obviously A Very Offensive Color
Her stepson is bowing to say hello, and it looks as though all Camilla Parker Bowles is concerned with is what her stepdaughter-in-law wore to the Observance for Commonwealth Day Service At Westminster Abbey.
By the looks of her facial expression in this picture, Kate's pink outfit wouldn't have been the Duchess of Cornwall's first choice as a color, or last, for that matter. Who knew the color pink could be so offensive to a person!
"Who Are You Waving To?"
It's not abnormal for the royal family to wave at the people. In fact, it's a very common occurrence, especially when they're riding in chariots down the street during a parade.
So the fact that Camilla Parker Bowles looks outwardly confused as to why Kate Middleton is waving speaks wonders. While their relationship might be perfectly well and good, this picture makes it seem like no matter what Kate does, Camilla will be mildly annoyed.
The Look Of Utter Confusion
Another day, another chariot, and another look of utmost annoyance radiating off Camilla Parker Bowles and directed towards Kate Middleton. It's kind of funny, though, the look of total confusion on the Duchess of Cornwall's face.
Camilla, Kate is only laughing; there is nothing confusing about the emotion. Obviously, the laughter is very much offending the older royal. Just another little thing Kate does to annoy her stepmother-in-law, it would seem!
When A Smile Is The Most Annoying Thing In The World
Camilla Parker Bowles is more of an ice queen than a Duchess, considering how she's reacting to something as simple and innocent as a smile during a carriage ride. Seriously, they're about to ride through the streets lined with civilians; of course, Duchess Kate is smiling!
Who wouldn't be? Oh, right, Camilla! It probably doesn't help that the younger Duchess happens to be wearing white, too. Just one more thing for the Duchess of Cornwall to be aggravated about.
Camilla's Annoyance Is Radiating Off This Picture
Kate isn't even wearing the same color as Camilla during the 2015 Trooping the Colour, and yet the Duchess of Cornwall still looks beyond annoyed to be stuck, once again, in a horse-drawn carriage ride with the Duchess of Cambridge.
Because who would want to have a nice fairytale-esk chariot ride with their stepdaughter-in-law? That sounds horrible, miserable, and not at all like something most little girls dream of. Yes, that was all entirely sarcasm.
Kate Finally Realizing She Needs A Royal Uber
Who knows what was said between the two Duchesses, but if a picture could speak, a lot of money would be put down on Kate whispering to herself to remember to hire a royal Uber for the next event.
While Camilla has her icy stare down for the civilian-lined streets, Kate looks as though she's rather jealous of the two men sitting upfront and directing the horses. Anywhere but sitting next to her stepmother-in-law.
Standing Back To Back Makes It Looks Like They're Feuding
During the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant in 2012, the Duchess of Cornwall couldn't have been more obvious about her annoyance with the younger Duchess of Cambridge.
This picture makes it seem as though Camilla couldn't wait to get away from Kate after the event. The two royals have their backs turned to one another with not a care in the world how it might look to people who don't know the inner workings of their relationship.
When The Duke Of York Doesn't Move To Speak To You
A common theme in the pictures of Kate Middleton and Camilla Parker Bowles is the Duchess of Cambridge is typically smiling while the older royal is, well, not. This picture is no different. Whatever issue Camilla has with Kate, it translates over to a picture in a startling fashion.
Here, the Duchess of Cornwall looks beyond annoyed that Prince Andrew, Duke of York, is leaning over to say something to Kate, and not walking around to tell her instead. Ok, Camilla.
A Backhanded Comment Must Have Been Made
Doesn't this picture look as though Camilla said some backhanded compliment to Kate, only to turn around and smile to herself while her stepdaughter-in-law looks like she's fighting not to roll her eyes?
Seriously, the public really would love to know what was said to have these two women sport completely opposite facial expressions while sitting next to one another in a chariot. Well, whatever it was, Camilla looks overly pleased with herself.
A Nervous Tick
This picture really looks as though Camilla said something to Kate, and she started to laugh once, leaving her stepdaughter-in-law to nervously scratch her face, so she didn't have to answer.
It might go without saying, but whatever was said between the two couldn't have been too nice if it resulted in Kate showcasing a nervous tick in public. And during the annual Trooping the Colour Ceremony at Buckingham Palace, of all events!

The tension of this picture is just rolling off the screen. Kate is typically all smiles, but when she's sitting next to her stepmother-in-law with nowhere to run, a stark emotion tends to be plastered on her face.
The duel side-glances to one another aren't helping matters. Kate probably did something to annoy Camilla in the carriage, prompting the older woman to try her best not to roll her eyes in the Duchess of Cambridge's direction.
A Look That Screams "You Better Stay Behind Me"
Of course, there are hierarchies in the royal family, something that dictates the order in which people walk during an event. The thing is, no one in the family tends to look this annoyed at the person walking behind them.
If pictures could talk, Camilla would most likely be saying that Kate better stay behind her or else she's going to have to have words with the younger Duchess. Talk about having major beef.
