Netflix Is Saying Goodbye To These Titles In February 2020
As the old saying goes, you win some, you lose some, and in the case of Netflix, we're all definitely losing some soon! Alas, all good things must come to an end, and in February 2020, some beloved titles are getting the boot from the streaming service. Don't fret just yet. There is still time to binge-watch!
Be sure to see Daniel-Day Lewis' adaptation of the 16th president in Lincoln and get your adrenaline fix with The Most Dangerous Road in the World before it's too late. Grab a box of tissues, because here are some shows and movies that are leaving the streaming giant in February.
The Lizzie Borden Chronicles
The Lizzie Borden Chronicles is a fictionalized account of Lizzie Borden, whose claim to fame is causing the death of her father and stepmother (never proven). The mini-series takes place right after her acquittal, with Lizzie and her older sister Emma trying to make a new life. Of course, Lizzie's reputation is ruined, and the sisters are in over their heads with financial troubles.
Starring alongside Christina Ricci's Lizzie Borden is Clea DuVall, who portrays Emma Borden. Unfortunately, time is running out, and The Lizzie Borden Chronicles is scheduled to leave Netflix in the coming month. This is one ghastly story that you won't want to miss.
Beast Legends
Beast Legends is a sci-fi mini-series that follows a team of creative researchers around the world as they explore some of the greatest legends surrounding mythological beasts. As they investigate the tales behind the beasts, they study real-life creatures that might have inspired some of the legends.
If you've ever wondered what some of these creatures look like in real life, your time to do so is running out! After researching, the team brings the animals to life using computer-generated effects and animation. Don't miss your chance to see griffins, krakens, and werewolves in person; Beast Legends is leaving Netflix in February.
World's Most Dangerous Roads
The BBC original World's Most Dangerous Roads takes two celebrities, a four-wheel-drive vehicle, and some of the most dangerous roads in the world and throws them all into one television show. Traveling from Nepal to Alaska and then down to Peru, the show takes the viewer on some of the most adrenaline-pumping journeys imaginable -- dangerous roads from end to end.
Narrated by Adrian Dunbar, World's Most Dangerous Roads is scheduled to leave Netflix in February 2020. So, get your fill of 90-degree angle backroads and narrow mountain passes without a barrier to save you from falling while you can!
My Tattoo Addiction
If you've ever wondered about a person's body art, then you're going to want to tune into My Tattoo Addiction on Netflix. The show dives into the niche world of tattooing, showcasing the unique stories behind some people's permanent designs. In a world where your tattoo can either make you one of the in-crowd or an outcast, design means everything.
If the drama sounds interesting, you're going to want to quickly binge-watch the three-season series, particularly the episode revolving around the lady who got various tattoos of Edward Cullen on her body. My Tattoo Addiction is set to leave Netflix sometime in February.
Spartacus

Of course, there is much more to the story, which includes many battles, betrayals, and various love stories. Spartacus first aired in 2010 and has since been on Netflix. We hate to say it, but the series is scheduled to leave the streaming platform in February 2020.
Camp X
Camp X is a documentary showcasing the first North American secret agent training facility known as Camp X. The one season dives into Special Training School No. 103 as it was erected during World War II and how it is key to present-day espionage training.
If you're interested in long-kept military secrets and the underground plots during World War II, then you're not going to want to miss the chance to watch Camp X. The documentary mini-series is scheduled to leave Netflix in February 2020.
Hunters of the South Seas
Hunters of the South Seas explores people who live entirely at sea and how they came to love the amphibious life. Will Millard writes and stars in the documentary, meeting people who live in the Coral Triangle in the Western Pacific while asking them about their intimate connection with the sea.

The three-season series follows the group of adventurers as they take the same route as the explorers of the 19th century Klondike gold rush. Their end game? To find gold of their own, of course!

The Bomb Squad
The Bomb Squad follows a British bomb team on the front lines during the war in Afghanistan. The documentary shows the squad as they face countless other dangers in their line of work, which don't all include going face to face with an active bomb.
Starring Christopher Eccleston, The Bomb Squad is a military documentary that highlights the impossible tasks soldiers go through in order to keep people safe. If you're a fan of the movie Hurt Locker, then you're going to want to watch what real heroes go through in order to defuse a situation. The Bomb Squad is scheduled to leave Netflix in early February.
LoliRock
If you need one more animated series to entertain your kids, look no further than LoliRock. The two-season series revolves around Iris, a teenage girl who is a rock star of the band LoliRock but also the princess of a magical kingdom. With two of her bandmates, Iris must defeat the evil Gramorr who has taken over her nation of Ephedia.
With the main characters based on real people such as Taylor Momsen and Arian Grande, you know there is going to be plenty of good-humored sass and adventure. Don't wait too long to get your little one hooked! LoliRock is leaving Netflix in early February 2020.
Revolting Rhymes
Revolting Rhymes takes some classic fairy tales and puts a dark twist on the narrative. The short animated films are based on the Roald Dahl book of the same name and feature illustrations by Quentin Blake. As a reviewer states, "No nursery rhyme is quite as it seems when Roald Dahl has re-written it."
Both children and adults will enjoy this unconventional take on some of the most popular fairy tales. If you're interested, then run to your television, tablet, or smartphone and start streaming the Revolting Rhymes straight away! The single-season show is leaving Netflix in February.
American Beauty
American Beauty analyzes the American middle-classes notions of beauty and satisfaction. The story follows the Burnham family, an unhappy bunch who go through multiple issues throughout the film, including infidelity and a whole lot of miscommunication.
The film is considered to be the best of 1999, winning multiple awards including three Oscars. If you haven't seen American Beauty, you're going to want to turn on Netflix and watch all of the drama unfold before it leaves the streaming service in February.
Charlie And The Chocolate Factory
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is based on the classic novel written by Roald Dahl. The film tells the tale of Charlie Bucket, a low-class boy who wins a Golden Ticket to see the inside of the famous Willy Wonka candy factory. Little does he know, he's about to come face-to-cafe with a Johnny Depp Wonka character (thank you for that, Tim Burton).
If you haven't seen the remake of the 1970s classic, then you're not going to want to miss your chance to see all of your favorite characters. Charlie, Willy Wonka, Grandpa Joe, Veruca, Violet, Mike, and Augustus will be leaving Netflix in February.
Free Willy
Free Willy is one of those family films that you can't help but tear up watching. The movie revolves around an orphaned boy, Jesse, who is sentenced to work at a theme park he vandalized. There, he meets Willy, an Orca whale who was separated from his family. Spoiler alert: Jesse ends up freeing Willy from the park so he can be with his family.
You're not going to want to miss the chance to watch this heartfelt '90s movie about friendship and love. Free Willy is being set free from Netflix's catalog in February.
All Three Matrix Movies
Calling all Keanu Reeves fans: the Matrix trilogy is on Netflix, but only for a limited time. If you're not familiar, the trilogy follows Neo and all his trench coat glory as he uncovers the truth about the Matrix, all while fighting insane slow-motion battles with one Agent Smith.
The award-winning trilogy will be taken off the streaming platform in February 2020. That means all Matrix enthusiasts need to binge-watch the three films, Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, and The Matrix Revolutions, before the fourth installment of the series comes out next year!
Trainspotting
Ewan McGregor stars in Trainspotting, a 1996 film that tells the story of an addict and his attempts at sobriety. The movie follows Mark Renton on his journey from Edinburgh to London and how he is cleaning up his act in the new city. Of course, his past isn't far behind him, and his "friends" Begbie and Sick Boy show up on his new doorstep.
The film has a 90 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has won multiple awards, including a BAFTA Award for Best Screenplay - Adapted. If you haven't seen this emotional masterpiece, your time is running out. Trainspotting will be taken off of Netflix in late February.
District 9
Thirty years ago, aliens arrived peacefully on Earth, seeking sanctuary from their dying planet. Unfortunately, what they got was District 9, a camp that housed the aliens with utter disregard for their well-being. All the agents want is to control the advanced technology that the aliens brought from their home planet.
Some consider District 9 to be one of the best science-fiction movies of the 2000s. The film came out of nowhere, being nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture. If you haven't seen this Peter Jackson masterpiece, you're going to want to re-prioritize your "must-see list." District 9 is scheduled to leave Netflix in February.
Lincoln
Steven Spielberg's Lincoln is a historical drama piece starring Daniel Day-Lewis, who won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as Lincoln. The film is set in 1865, in what Lincoln expects to be the end of the American Civil War. It progresses to the day John Wilkes Booth shoots Lincoln at Ford's Theater.
The film was critically acclaimed, with one reviewer going as far as to say, "Lincoln is one of those rare projects where a great director, a great actor, and a great writer amplify one another's gifts." Lincoln will be taken off of Netflix's streaming service in February 2020.
Gangs of New York
Welcome to 1860s New York, where gangs run rampant and a young Leo DiCaprio is trying to avenge his father's death. Gangs of New York follows the story of Amsterdam Vallon, an Irish immigrant who infiltrates an anti-immigrant gang int the hopes of slaying the leader, and thus, avenging his father. But what starts as an easy in turns into a fight for survival.
Martin Scorsese's Gangs of New York was well received, gaining ten nominations at the 75th Academy Awards. If you enjoy Leo, Daniel Day-Lewis, and Cameron Diaz, you're not going to want to miss watching Gangs of New York before it's taken off Netflix in February.
The Taking of Pelham 123
John Travolta and Denzel Washington square off as hijacker and subway dispatcher in the crime filmThe Taking of Pelham 123. Chaos ensues when Ryder, a hijacker, along with his fellow criminals, takes control of a subway in New York and holds the passengers hostage. It is then up to dispatcher Walter Garber to outwit the criminals with his extensive knowledge of the subway system.
Will dispatcher Garber win? Or will Ryder and his goons get the payout they're looking for? The only way you'll know what happens is if you watch The Taking of Pelham 123 before it is no longer available on Netflix!

Clouds of Sils Maria is a 2014 drama that came from a French-German-Swiss co-production, but it quickly became popular in the U.S. In the movie, an actress travels with her personal assistant to Sils Maria, Switzerland. The actress encounters a death, a role that blurs with her life, and increasing feelings for her assistant.
If you want to watch Clouds of Sils Maria, do it before February 11th. The movie has won several awards since its release, so it's a must-see for any drama lover. It also streams on Vudu and Amazon.
Milk
The 2008 documentary Milk is a re-enactment of the life of Harvey Milk, a politician who advocated for LGBTQ rights. He was the first openly gay politician to be elected. The biographical film covers Milk's life and the circumstances of his assassination. Milk received eight Oscar nominations when it came out.
Sean Penn won Best Actor for his portrayal of Milk. If you missed this critically-acclaimed movie, catch it on Netflix before February 15th. Milk still has a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, just in case you need more persuading!
Operator
In 2016, the comedy-drama Operator aired at the SXSW Film Festival. In the movie, a programmer (Martin Starr) is happily married to a comedian (Mae Whitman)...until they begin using each other in their respective careers.
Despite its humorous premise, the film leans into some dark themes of mental health, and it veers more toward a romance near the end. If this interests you, catch it on Netflix before the 15th. Viewers seem to be split on this movie, based on Rotten Tomato reviews, so see the film for yourself.
Peter Rabbit
In 2018, a live-action movie animated the Peter Rabbit stores by Beatrix Potter. The film grossed $351 million worldwide, and a sequel is scheduled to release in 2020. However, the film won't remain on Netflix until March.
In the film, Peter Rabbit and his friends end up clashing with the new heir of Harrods department store, an uptight workaholic named Thomas McGregor (played by Domhnall Gleeson). Although the trailer received a host of negative reviews, the film had better acclaim after it was released.
Charlotte's Web (1973)
The 1973 classic, Charlotte's Web, will sadly leave Netflix soon. The animated musical was based on the 1952 book by E.B. White. The Sherman Brothers, who also made the music for Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, wrote the soundtrack for the movie.
In the film, the young piglet Wilbur is spared from being slaughtered and raised as a pet. However, he gets separated from his owner, Fern Arable. The movie is also available on Vudu, Amazon, YouTube, and Google Play, in case you can't watch it before February 19th.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
The original 1974 horror movie The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is carved into the memories of many horror fans. However, the slasher film will no longer be available on Netflix after February 21st. The original spawned a franchise of remakes (including the 2006 version, which is not on Netflix), sequels, prequels, video games, and comics.
In the movie, a group of teenagers decided to visit the local Hardesty family to investigate rumors that they were grave robbing. Unfortunately, their snooping gets them caught up in a life-threatening scenario. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a must-see for any horror fan.
Our Idiot Brother
Our Idiot Brother is a comedy and drama starring Jesse Peretz, Paul Rudd, and Elizabeth Banks. In the movie, Ned (Paul Rudd) returns from jail to find out that his girlfriend was cheating on him. He moves in with his three sisters, who all have complicated love scenarios going on at once.
Unlike other comedy protagonists, Ned is a saintly person who tends to trust people a bit too much. Our Idiot Brother met mostly positive reviews from its fresh concept. If you want to catch it on Netflix, do so before February 26th.
Jeopardy! Collection
Netflix has a large collection of the game show that began in 1984, Jeopardy! However, this series will leave the streaming service on February 27th. If you love Jeopardy!, including the more recent seasons from 2015, you'll want to watch these episodes before they leave. The show also streams on Hulu.
For those who don't know, Jeopardy! is a game show that quizzes contestants about general knowledge. The contestants choose the difficulty of the question based on the number of points a correct answer provides. Unlike other game shows, the "question" is phrased as an answer, and the contestants need to answer with a question.
My Little Pony: Equestria Girls - Rainbow Rocks
My Little Pony: Equestria Girls - Rainbow Rocks is better known for its shorter title, Rainbow Rocks. The Canadian-American animated film combines fantasy with music and re-invents the My Little Pony characters as human teenagers. The film is a sequel to Equestria Girls, which is not on Netflix.
In the movie, the main characters' band, the Rainbooms, have to compete with another magical band who just moved to their school. Rainbow Rocks received a short theatrical release, but it was popular enough to receive eight animated shorts as sequels.
Primal Fear
The 1996 legal drama, Primal Fear, will leave Netflix on February 28th. When the movie was released in 1996, supporting actor Edward Norton won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor and an Oscar nomination in the same category.
In Primal Fear, a Chicago attorney believes that an altar boy is not guilty of murdering a Catholic Archbishop. Despite its many awards, the movie received mixed reviews. If you want to form your own opinion on the film, watch it before it Netflix gets rid of it.
Up In The Air
Released in 2009, Up in the Air stars George Clooney as Ryan Bingham. The character has one of the most soul-crushing jobs available: laying people off for a living. Bingham travels the country as a “downsizer” for a human resources consultancy firm and has an obsession with acquiring the most frequent flyer miles for American Airlines.
Along the way, he meets a woman named Alex (Vera Farmiga). Though interested, he keeps her at arm’s length. But then, things change… Watch it and find out what happens before it leaves Netflix on February 29th.
The Mind of a Chef
Five seasons of The Mind of a Chef will no longer be available on Netflix after February 29th. The late Anthony Bourdain is both the executive producer and narrator of the series that takes an in-depth look at the philosophies and closely-held beliefs of some of the world’s greatest chefs.
Watch the series to learn the inner-workings of some of the most talented people in culinary arts, including David Chang, Michael Steed, Claudia Woloshin, Anna Chai, Michael Steed, Siobhan Walshe, and Morgan Fallon.
Stripes
You can’t go wrong with any film starring Bill Murray. Whether you’ve watched this one a hundred times or none, you’ll want to stream Stripes before it leaves Netflix on February 29th. The film follows John Winger as he joins the Army after his life falls apart.
His work ethic is quickly identified as a problem at basic training and Winger ends up taking more interest in the girls and parties going on outside of Fort Arnold. This comedy is stocked with plenty of talented actors who were just being recognized as up-and-coming stars when the film hit the box office in 1981.
Rachel Getting Married
Starring Anne Hathaway, Rachel Getting Married follows addict Kym Buchman as she leaves rehab and attempts to fit back into her family and society. The drama is filled with flashbacks as she looks back on her mistakes with regret while trying to pick up the pieces and show that she’s changed at her sister’s wedding (Rosemarie DeWitt).
The film, leaving Netflix on February 29th, will have you calling your sister and crying to her. Far from a feel-good, Hathaway received an Oscar nomination for Best Actress for her performance. It’s worth a watch.
Layer Cake
Directed by Matthew Vaughn and starring Daniel Craig, Layer Cake is a film based on the novel by the same name. While you might have gotten used to Craig playing the good guy in the James Bond franchise, he’s cast as a criminal in this film, known as XXXX.
Based in Britain, the plot of the crime film has plenty of twists and turns and of course, some entertaining action scenes. Oh, and did we mention Sienna Miller? Catch it before it leaves Netflix on February 29th.
Igor
The animated film Igor leaves Netflix on February 29th, so be sure to watch it with your family before you miss it! This fun film takes place in the Kingdom of Malaria, where the people are trying to save their kingdom from an evil scientist who threatens to destroy everything in the ultimate doomsday.
The film has a classic good-vs-evil theme with characters voiced by an A-list cast including Jay Leno, John Cusack, John Cleese, Steve Buscemi, and Sean Hayes.
Hustle & Flow
Terrence Howard was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in Hustle & Flow. He plays a pimp and hustler living in Memphis who sets out to follow his dreams of becoming a rapper.
The path isn’t an easy one and viewers watch as Djay struggles to leave his old life behind him, create an album, and get his songs played on the radio. You’ll have to watch it to find out what happens before it leaves Netflix on February 29th.
Anger Management
Put your feet up and get some laughs with Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson in Anger Management. Sandler’s character Dave Buznik has an outburst on an airplane which leads to him being tasered and sent to anger management classes.
That’s when he meets Nicholson's character, Dr. Buddy Rydell, who attaches himself like a ball and chain to Dave to help him with his outbursts. It’s everything you can expect from an Adam Sandler film, with Marisa Tomei playing his girlfriend. Catch it before it leaves Netflix on February 29th!
