They Made It To The Other Side: Where Are The Stars Of Lost Now?

It was 2004 when ABC introduced the world to the hit drama series Lost and the passengers of Ocean Flight 815. We followed the characters as they fought for survival on the mysterious island they called home. After six seasons, fans finally got some semblance of closure.

But what happened to the actors after their characters left the "island" and crossed over? Now, ten years after the controversial series finale, we're taking a look at where some of the stars of the hit series ended up. Scroll on through; maybe you'll notice some familiar faces from other films and series.

Evangeline Lilly -- Kate Austen

If you're a fan of the show Lost, then you know one of the main plot points was the "will they won't they" love-triangle between Kate Austen, Jack Shepard, and James "Sawyer Ford." Of course, in the end, before everyone "crosses over," Kate picks Jack. So, we're sorry for those of you who were Team Swayer.

Since the drama ended, actress Evangeline Lilly has been quite busy saving the world alongside Ant-Man. Although Lilly hasn't appeared on television since the series ended, she has been an active member of the MCU, starring in the films Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp.

One of the fan favorites, when it came to the ragtag group of Oceanic survivors, was Hugo "Hurley" Reyes. During a time of uncertainty, he was always a great source of comic relief. And to say fans were thrilled when he reunited with Libby during the series finale would be putting it mildly.

But after his time on Lost, actor Jorge Garcia decided to stick to more comedic roles. He was a series regular on Hawaii Five-O, from season four until the series finale. And Garcia also starred in a 2020 Netflix original movie called The Wrong Missy.

Unfortunately for swoon-worthy Boone Carlyle, he didn't make it past the first season of Lost. The character was one of the first to die, only making an appearance during the finale when everyone meets at the church to cross over. But it doesn't matter; actor Ian Somerhalder had a stellar career after his time on Lost.

In 2009, teens everywhere were introduced to the Salvator Brothers, one of which was played by Ian Somerhalder in the hit series The Vampire Diaries. But it seems as though the actor can't put vampires behind him, starring in sci-fi horror series V Wars in 2020.

Michael Emerson appeared in the second season of Lost as the villainous Ben Linus. Well, we technically thought his name was Henry Gale, but that's neither here nor there. The one thing we do care about is that Linus showed some redeeming qualities by the end of the series...some.

As for Emerson, he has been quite busy in the entertainment world since the finale of the drama series. Currently, he is starring as Dr. Leland Townsend, an occult expert, in the CBS thriller series Evil. Pretty much, Emerson has an affinity for "evil" characters.

To say John Locke was a mysterious character when he's first introduced in the first season of Lost would be an understatement. He's stoic, to himself, and has a strange affinity for surviving in the wild. Of course, that little skill is very helpful for the other survivors of the Oceanic crash.

But what has actor Terry O'Quinn been up to since his character walked into the afterlife? Well, he's been working! After the series ended, O'Quinn found work on a series of different projects, including a stint on Hawaii Five-O and a role on the 2019 show Emergence.

From the pilot episode, it was evident Lost was going to focus on Jack Shepard. When Ocean Flight 815 crashed, he took charge, giving medical assistance to those who needed it, and taking up a leadership position among the survivors. After his character found out he was actually dead in the finale, actor Matthew Fox took his talents to the silver screen.

After Lost, Fox starred as the villain Michael "The Butcher" Sullivan in the 2013 film Alex Cross, with his last film credit being for the horror film Bone Tomahawk in 2015. As of 2020, it doesn't seem as though Fox is set to appear in film or television.

Desmond Hume is an interesting character, as he wasn't one of the Oceanic Flight 815 passengers who crash-landed on the island. He was stranded there three years before the survivors as a result of a shipwreck. Desmond is also said to be the show's most popular character.

So, what did the actor Henry Ian Cusick do after he said goodbye to the popular character? Cusick starred in and directed a few episodes of the CW hit series The 100, played Dr. Jonas Lear in Passage, and, most recently, stars as Russell "Russ/Rusty" Taylor in the action-adventure series MacGyver.

Sayid Jarrah is a very interesting character. For starters, he was able to get Shannon out of her snobby, bratty, reliant ways. Then, he also heroically saved his fellow survivors by running away from them with a bomb as it explodes. The act is very characteristic of Sayid.

Since the end of Lost, actor Naveen Andrews appeared in the Netflix original series Sense8, a show that has since been categorized as a cult show. And, more recently, he played the role of Julian Cousins in police procedural drama series Instinct.

Elizabeth "Libby" Smith is a member of the tail section of Oceanic Flight 815 survivors. First appearing in the second season, Libby only makes it to the third season on the mysterious island. And while the character was generally well-received by audience members, there was no centric episode surrounding her.

So, really, how important was she? We're just kidding! Regardless, let's talk about what actress Cynthia Watros has been up to since her time on Lost. Since 2019, the actress has been playing the role of Nina Reeves on the ABC hit drama General Hospital.

When Oceanic Flight 815 crashes, half of the plane lands on one side of the mysterious island while the tail half lands on the other. Ana Lucia Cortez is the leader of the "tail side." At first, Rodriguez came in as a guest star, but her character was quickly written in as part of the main cast for season two.

Cortez is shot and killed at the end of the season, leaving actress Michelle Rodriguez open for new projects. The biggest projects she has completed are the film Avatar as well as playing Letty in the Fast and Furious franchise.

One corner of the Kate and Jack love-triangle was James "Sawyer" Ford. Now, Sawyer was one of those characters that people either loved to hate or hated to love. Needless to say, he was a bit rough around the edges. Thankfully, he found peace in the afterlife with Dr. Juliet Burke.

Once Lost ended in 2010, actor Josh Holloway had a few guest appearances on television shows, such as Community and Yo Gabba Gabba! But his biggest project was arguably his starring role in Colony. Otherwise, he has been working on projects here and there, such as his season-regular character Roarke Carter in Yellowstone.

Charlie Pace is introduced as one of the main characters right out of the gate. Coming from a rock and roll background, he was very unlike the other survivors. But he quickly finds a love interest in Claire and forms friendships with Hurley and Desmond. Unfortunately, he drowns in the third season to save his fellow survivors.

But drowning in Lost was far from the end of Dominic Monaghan's career in entertainment. Since the finale, the actor has played a minor character in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. He also hosts a nature show called Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan.

Charles Widmore is a complex character, as he is the leader of the natives of the island called the Others. He is estranged from his two children and doesn't approve of their relationships with the new inhabitants. Of course, to keep things interesting, he's banished, making his last appearance during the penultimate episode of the entire series.

Since the end of Lost, actor Alan Dale joined the MCU as Councilman Rockwell in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. But most recently, Dale has the lead role of Joseph Anders in the hit series Dynasty.

Let's get the white elephant out of the room before we discuss the character, Shannon Rutherford. She has a weird "cruel intentions" relationship with her stepbrother Boone. Now, we're happy for her because she has a redeeming character arch, starting as the bratty girl and transforming into someone Sayid could love.

Since the stint on the show ended, actor Maggie Grace has been busy. She has had reoccurring roles on two hit shows, Californication and Fear the Walking Dead.

Jin-Soo Kwon was a hard character to get behind, at first, solely because of his traditions and how he treated Sun with the other survivors. Pretty much, he wouldn't let her socialize or be around them even though they're all on a deserted island together. Regardless, they get their happy ending in the "sideways flash," having a baby.

After actor Daniel Dae Kim said goodbye to his character Jin-Soo Kwon, he's had quite a career. Kim had a starring role in Hawaii Five-O, reoccurring roles in The Good Doctor, Flack, and New Amsterdam. Most recently, he had a role in the Netflix movie Always Be My Maybe.

Known as one of the Others by the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815, Dr. Juliet Burke is a fertility specialist recruited to go to the island by Richard Alpert. The goal was to help save pregnant women, as they were dying during childbirth. If you're familiar, you know she had a huge character arc.

But actress Elizabeth Mitchell couldn't be Dr. Burke forever. After hanging up her lab coat, Mitchell has had reoccurring roles on hit series such as Once Upon a Time, Crossing Lines, and Dead of Summer.

The character of Claire Littleton's hard not to like. She's a very pregnant, kind-hearted woman who's trapped on a deserted island with a bunch of strangers. Thankfully, she had Charlie to help her through any tough times, and they were able to reunite during the finale.

After Lost wrapped up, actress Emilie de Ravin played the role of Belle on the critically acclaimed series Once Upon a Time. Her last film credit is the 2019 television film A Lover Scorned.

Sun-Hwa Kwan was a quiet character, at first, being in the shadow of fiance Jin-Soo Kwon. Unfortunately for the character, she was a victim of the horrific submarine accident in season six. But, she wound up getting her dream in the flash-sideways, when she reunites with Jin, and they have a baby together.

After Lost, actress Yunjin Kim has been featured in a few different projects. One of the most interesting being a late-night soap opera called Mistresses. Kim also stars in the South Korean series Ms. Ma, Nemesis, and is set to appear in the upcoming film Confession.

For a long time, Lost's main antagonist, The Man in Black, was solely a cloud of black smoke, something the characters were afraid of. It wasn't until season five that the character showed up in the form of a real human. Since his time as the evil villain, Titus Welliver has been very busy.

The actor has appeared on his series such as Sons of Anarchy, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and White Collar. Most recently, he has the starring role of Detective Hieronymus "Harry" Bosch in Bosch.

Michael Dawson had a very strict game plan when the plane crashed in the Pacific, and the Others kidnapped his son: get his son back by any means necessary. Thankfully, he is successful. But that doesn't mean he isn't haunted by what he had to do to accomplish his goal.

Actor Harold Perrineau has been very busy since his character was killed off Lost. Currently, he is starring as Dean Simms in the TNT comedy-drama series Claws. He also played Wes Keeler on an episode of the hit series The Good Doctor.
