A Man Snapped This Photo Right Before He Was Mauled

Darsh Patel was hiking West Milford, New Jersey when he came across a 300-pound black bear in 2014. He managed to capture photos of the bear about 100 feet away, but the animal kept approaching Patel as well as a group of other hikers who split up before Patel was mauled. Patel’s phone was later recovered, although quite noticeably, with the bear’s teeth marks in it.
