This is the last known photo taken of the doomed luxury liner, RMS Titanic, before she sank in the Atlantic Ocean on April 15, 1912. There were an estimated 2,224 people aboard the ship and more than 1,500 people perished in the horrifying maritime accident. The ship collided with a large iceberg, which created a series of holes below the waterline. With five of the ship’s watertight compartments were breached, the ship was doomed.
