This heartwrenching photo of the troubled Budd Dwyer was taken moments before he committed suicide on live television. Dwyer was the Treasurer of Pennsylvania where he served from 1971 to 1981. On January 22, 1987, he called a news conference and to everyone’s surprise, pulled out a .357 Magnum revolver and shot himself in the head. His suicide was viewed by thousands on television sets across the state.
