Donald Trump & Kanye West Go Way Back

Donald Trump and Kanye West have been friends for a long time, the then president-elect revealed in 2016. Following the election, West courted controversy when he performed in San Jose and admitted he was a Trump supporter. He announced, “I loved the debates, I loved his approach.”

Much of the African-American community is frustrated with Trump’s policies, so West’s devotion seems misplaced to a lot of people. West visited Trump Towers in 2016 to meet with the president-elect. He later tweeted: “I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change.”
